The 🐿️’s weekly ‘Start the Week’ note hits inboxes at 7.30am EST on Monday mornings every week. In it, we review both BUSHY™ (our beta portfolio) and the Acorn book of global multi-asset thematic positions.

BUSHY™, the 🐿️’s beta portfolio gave back some ground last week but generally weathered a tough October for risk assets.

BUSHY™ is benchmarked against Vanguard’s 2035 Target Date Mutual Fund (VTTHX - the turquoise line in the chart below). Full report below the paywall.

A quick reminder that the BUSHY™ portfolio is investable via a single click on the Plutus platform (as will the ‘20-for-20’ when launched) - full details in my July launch note linked below or the website via the button underneath.

Black Monday?

I thought my system was buggy on Saturday morning when I started to pull together my charts and data for this report. The screechy Bloomberg headlines and flashing red CNBC chyrons were hardly compatible with an S&P 500 down only 56bps on the week (and only 5% off an all-time high).

Cross asset markets last week

Then the confirmation came…

…there was no way we were getting another Black Monday!
