We have just had a ‘change of wheels’ at the Burrow. Mrs 🐿️ acquired a Bernedoodle puppy 6 months ago which, once fully grown to his target (25kg) weight, will occupy most of the back seat of our soon-to-be-ex Tesla Model 3. We are praying that the Model 3 clears the resale market before Elon Musk can impair Tesla’s brand equity any further. When we collected its replacement this week, a German (sorry), petrol engine (sorry) SUV (sorry), the dealer was rapid to apologetically point out to us that front driver and passenger seat adjustments were not powered by an electric motor. It turns out that one of the tricks that dealerships used in order to acquire any showroom stock during 2021/22 was to order models with specs that required fewer semiconductors (no ‘one-button’ boot opener either!).
